Dining: Mozza Baja
Marina Village’s signature restaurant, Mozza Baja combines a Los Angeles vibe with distinctly East Cape recipes. Diners can gather around a woodfire pizza oven grab a seat at the outdoor lounge, or dine indoors.
Their menu is full of amazing dishes, made with locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant works directly with local farmers to source fresh organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs. And with local fishermen to source fresh seafood and shellfish. You will find some classics on the menu, like pizza and steak. But if you’re looking for a showstopper, try the linguine with clams. It won’t disappoint.
Leading this eclectic eatery is renowned chef Nancy Silverton, the owner of Michelin-starred Osteria Mozza in Los Angeles. Silverton’s love for cooking began in college when she worked at a vegetarian restaurant. Now the 69-year-old chef owns several restaurants and has authored multiple cookbooks. And is considered the grassroots leader of the artisan bread movement.
Shop and Sip: Casena
To complement Mozza Baja, you’ll find an upscale retail experience at Casena. Named for one of the area’s first settlers, this open-air boutique serves delicious coffee alongside locally crafted items. You’ll find stylish, one-of-a-kind home goods, handcrafted apparel, and regional pantry items that can make any homemade dish sing.
Inspired by Old World Mexico, the items inside represent different pockets of the country, like salsa from Mexico City or honey from the Yucatan. These showcase products are on display inside a simple yet elegant retail space, where the centerpiece is a coffee bar with a vibrant tile mural wrapped around it.
Visitors can shop the store, order coffee and avocado toast, and sit outside to soak up the beautiful views of the marina.
