4 Ways to Celebrate Special Occasions in Los Cabos

If you’re visiting Los Cabos during a special occasion, you have a number of celebratory activities to choose from. The exotic location, sitting at the southern tip of Baja’s 775-mile coast, is a stunning oasis fit for any birthday, anniversary, or milestone.

If you’re planning to celebrate during your stay, consider one of these one-of-a-kind activities:

  1. Spend your day at sea

Given Cabo’s prestigious coastline, one of the best ways to celebrate is by spending time on the sea. Consider these ideas:

    Scuba dive at Cabo Pulmo

Spend your day exploring an underwater world at Cabo Pulmo, a national marine park on the east side of the peninsula. As you glide below the water’s surface, you’ll get a chance to see more than 800 species of fish and plants, most of which call a 2,000-year-old coral reef home.

This federally-protected site is a common place to visit, but residents or guests at Costa Palmas can take advantage of a five-hour charter that explores the park and includes scuba diving lessons, if needed.

    Sunset cruise

If you’re looking for a relaxing celebration day, consider lounging at the beach or spending your day at the pool. Bring a book and read as you listen to the gentle sounds of the ocean or simply close your eyes and let your mind and body unwind.

After your day by the water, put on your most comfy linen attire and hop aboard a sunset cruise. You’ll coast through the sea for about two hours as you watch the sun slowly dip below the horizon and cast a wash of color through the sky.

Go island hopping on an overnight charter

Want to explore uninhabited islands in the Sea of Cortez? Consider booking an overnight charter that offers the perfect blend of relaxation and excitement. When you book a charter, you can wake up to postcard-worthy views, enjoy meals prepared by a chef, wander around islands, and take the onboard jet skis out for a spin.

Choose from a one-night or three-night trip that leisurely strolls around exotic islands.

  2. Design a day around food and drinks

Celebrate with creative cuisine and decadent drinks with these three suggestions:

    Pick three restaurants

To celebrate a foodie in your life, consider picking three restaurants – one for each meal. Start your day at Casasola Cafe & Brunch with cinnamon roll french toast in their bamboo-shaded courtyard. Plan lunch at La Abuela Nelly, an authentic Mexican restaurant, and reserve a dinner table at Estiatorio Milos; a beachside restaurant with Mediterranean food that will not disappoint.

    Take a tour

You can find a handful of vendors that offer food tours. Usually, tours last around three hours, and you’ll likely walk to a handful of different restaurants and try a few bites from each place. Most stop at authentic restaurants and often include a Mexican tequila tasting too.

    Dinner and drinks

Cabo is brimming with nightlife. You can easily plan to eat a later dinner, do a little dancing, and enjoy a few cocktails. Cabo Wabo Cantina, Sammy Hagar’s tequila bar, and Nowhere Bar are both hotspots, but if you’re looking for something a little more laid back, stop by Limon, an upscale outdoor bar tucked inside a lemon grove.

  3. Try a new sport

To celebrate a big day, try something new. These three sports are quite popular in Cabo:

    Kitesurfing

Using wind power to propel a rider across the water, kitesurfing is trendy in Cabo. Thanks to El Norte winds, riders can glide through the water at 10 to 12 mph.

Los Barriles, a small town on the East Cape, is the place to go. Due to its favorable conditions, the destination hosts an annual kitesurfing competition and is home to many kitesurfing schools that cater to beginners.

    Golf

Over the last decade, golf has become an increasingly popular sport in Baja. Dozens of golf courses dot the coast, including one of the newest, Costa Palmas Golf Club. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the course has three movements and offers magnificent views along with firm and fast terrain.

You can celebrate with a full round of 18-holes or consider the seven-hole loop so you can maximize your day.

    Sportfishing

If the person you’re celebrating is an angler, what better treat than a sportfishing charter? Long before celebrities started roaming Cabos’ beaches, it was known for its fishing. Small mom-and-pop B&Bs catered to a handful of guests who flew in on a grass landing strip to spend a week or two fishing the rich waters.

Today, anglers are still visiting Los Cabos and consider the area the “it” place to fish. If you’re ready to snag a fighter, hop aboard a Costa Palmas charter to try your hand at reeling in a marlin or a dorado.

With seasoned captains at the helm and gear at the ready, you’ll have everything you need to celebrate the fishing aficionado in your life.

  4. Shop for real estate

If you’re visiting Los Cabos frequently, maybe it’s time to make your stay a bit more permanent. Many visitors fall in love with Cabo and decide to buy a vacation home. If you’re in the market, consider launching your search on a birthday or anniversary.

Take your loved one to meet a realtor to explore a handful of homes on the market, or learn about the many residences within Costa Palmas. From beachfront residences to yacht villas with captain’s quarters, you can find a variety of bespoke homes nestled along the Sea of Cortez, including homes within:

    Casa Blake

Casa Blake offers an opportunity to live in the heart of the new Marina Village at Costa Palmas. This iconic neighborhood is just steps from internationally acclaimed dining, shopping, and the yacht club.

    Four Seasons

Whether you choose a private residence on the golf course, beach, or marina, every chore is taken care of and every whim attended to. No matter which location or floor plan you pick, you’ll feel at home wrapped in the luxury that is East Cape.

    Aman
