FUNDACIÓN COSTA PALMAS

The Costa Palmas Foundation was founded on a simple, powerful premise: to be a good neighbor. We and our residents have become part of a kind and generous community, and we wanted to find meaningful ways to give back. The fundación works closely with towns in the resort area and throughout the East Cape on environmental, educational and social initiatives, and residents have donated, worked as volunteers and contributed in countless other ways to our initiative.

Fundación Costa Palmas Environmental, Educational and Social Initiatives

A Focus on Environmental, Educational and Social Initiatives

The fundación was born in 2021 as a bridge between Costa Palmas and nearby residents. The communities guide initiatives, letting the fundación know where interventions will be most beneficial. Projects range from infrastructure development to upgrade public schools to providing vital classroom equipment and access to technology. We have Blue Flag certification and monitor the coastline to protect sea turtle nests—some 942 nests and 45,000 turtles in 2023 alone. We host career days and teach English and many other skills.

Creating Better Communities

The fundación’s work has touched communities near and far and people of all ages. We’ve renovated 118,300 square meters of public spaces, touched the lives of 12,230 locals, donated 10,500 supplies of all kinds, volunteered for 8,200 hours, and provided 1,010 hours of teaching and education.
