Another Epic Summer at Costa Palmas

As we bid adios to summer on the East Cape, we take a moment to pause and reflect on what a full season it was at Costa Palmas. Our Aventura team took advantage of the long, sunshine-filled days and the Sea of Cortez’s revitalizing waters for activities of all types. Here, where the ocean and desert coalesce, adventure called and the Costa Palmas team answered…

Marco - Aventura Team Director

Adventure is a state of mind for Marco. He and his family and friends have been exploring Baja – experiencing life on two-wheels, four-wheels, and in and on the water. With the goal of experiencing the area surrounding Costa Palmas, Marco camped under the stars in neighboring San Dionisio waterfalls and mountain-biked on the desert-terrain in Buena Vista, a mere 20 minutes from Costa Palmas.  Marco and Martin, Costa Palmas spearfishing guide, rounded out their summer with some fun days in the ocean. This age-old Baja sport resulted in grouper, red snapper and jackfish.

“The trail we love is ideal for all levels and is just a quick ride from Costa Palmas.”

Danny - Aventura Team Member

When the temperature is hot, there’s no better place to be than in the refreshing waters of the Sea of Cortez. Danny knows this to be true, and for that reason, his outdoor office shifted from land to sea as he surfed and paddled all over the East Cape this summer. If you’re interested in learning about the best surf spots in all of Baja, simply ask Danny. From the lesser-known, hidden gems to the widely-popular novice locales, Danny has you covered. When he’s not surfing, you can find Danny with a kite in hand as he kite-boards directly in front of Costa Palmas.

“My favorite surf spots are Nine Palms, La Fortuna, Punta Perfecta and Castillo de Arena.”

As summer comes to a close, we anxiously anticipate the flawless timing of our next season, arriving just when it should. From the expectation of sea turtle hatchlings making their way to the sea for the first time to prime and clear scuba diving and snorkeling in the protected waters of Cabo Pulmo, Autumn in Baja is exceptional. The final months of the year are ideal for water sports of all types! From wakesurfing to paddleboarding, the sea draws us in. Let us charter your ride and get you prepared for a day of sportfishing on the Sea of Cortez when Autumn waters are ripe with tuna and dorado. Here on the East Cape of Baja, there’s always something to do in every season.
