The 28th Annual Bisbee’s East Cape Offshore Fishing Tournament, held from July 31 to August 3, brought together 78 teams and 490 anglers for an exhilarating event on the Sea of Cortez. Participants, including members and guests of Costa Palmas, enjoyed three days of fishing aboard the 72-foot yacht, Reels N Dirt.
The Costa Palmas Marina was abuzz throughout the event, with boats setting out early each morning and returning late each evening. The Costa Palmas Yacht Club, in collaboration with the Costa Palmas Marina team, provided exceptional service and meticulous attention to detail. Amenities included morning pastry baskets, ice stations at every dock, two fuel stations, and complimentary massages. Guests were welcomed with gift bags containing a Yacht Club mug, hat, t-shirt, and Costa Palmas Magazine.
Costa Palmas also hosted special events for Bisbee’s participants staying at the marina and at Four Seasons Resort. Highlights included a tequila and mezcal tasting at the new Casa Blake Sales Nook at the Marina Village, followed by dinner at Mozza on Wednesday, with entertainment provided by a DJ and saxophone performance on a docked boat. On Thursday, attendees enjoyed a sunset mini-golf putting competition and burger night at Bouchie’s. The festivities concluded on Friday with dinner at The Nursery, featuring live music to celebrate three thrilling days on the Sea of Dreams.
The Costa Palmas team, aboard the Reels N Dirt, had an exceptional experience, with notable catches including one blue marlin, four sailfish, and four striped marlin—totaling nine catches over the tournament.
Congratulations to all participants and winners, especially the Top Billfish winners: Wild Hooker, securing first place with a 549 lb Black Marlin and earning $937,162; and Team Quitena, in second place overall with a 471 lb Blue Marlin, taking home $345,202.
We look forward to the 29th Bisbee’s East Cape Offshore Tournament and anticipate seeing the marina vibrant with winning teams and engaging activities. Until then!
