Bringing the Game of Golf to La Ribera’s Kids

A Fun Morning on the Course with teens from the local community

Last week, Fundación Costa Palmas and the Costa Palmas Golf team welcomed 25 students, ages 13 and 14, from the local Telesecundario de La Ribera for a fun and engaging morning at Bouchie’s and the driving range. Divided into small groups, they rotated through different skill stations, where our golf professionals introduced them to the fundamentals of the game—grip, alignment, stance, and posture.

Under the guidance of Jimmy, Chris, Lucas, Rodrigo, and Jaden, the kids practiced their swings, putts, and chips, building confidence with each shot. Jimmy capped off the morning with a few trick shots, earning cheers and laughter from the young golfers.

“Introducing these kids to the game and seeing their excitement as they took their first swings was truly special,” said Jimmy Arvanetes, Director of Golf Membership at Costa Palmas. “Having our Costa Palmas members there to share in these moments makes our bond with the wonderful community of La Ribera even stronger. We look forward to many more joyful and enriching mornings with the local kids, both on and off the course.

After golf, the energy shifted to a friendly soccer match that ended in a close 1-0 game. The day wrapped up with a well-earned lunch at Bouchie’s, where the kids enjoyed sliders, hot dogs, and, of course, plenty of ice cream and chocolate chip cookies, thanks to the Costa Palmas F&B team.
