The 2025 Bisbee’s East Cape Offshore Fishing Tournament, held from July 30 to August 2, brought together 80 teams competing for a record-setting $1,525,000 prize purse during three exhilarating days on the Sea of Cortez.
The Costa Palmas Marina was at full capacity and buzzing with energy throughout the tournament. Each afternoon, spectators gathered to watch boats return from a long day at sea, creating a dynamic and celebratory atmosphere across the Marina Village. Costa Palmas supported the event with three fuel docks—two diesel and one gas—ensuring smooth operations for all tournament participants.
One of the most remarkable stories of the tournament came from Team Zorah, who reeled in a 773-pound Black Marlin after an intense multi-hour battle. Although the fish didn’t make it to the scales in time to qualify, it marked the latest-weighed marlin in the tournament’s history and an unforgettable achievement for the team.
Costa Palmas members and guests took to the water aboard Bad Company, enjoying three days on the sea, even if the fishing luck wasn’t on their side!
On land, Costa Palmas hosted a series of events for Bisbee’s participants, members, and guests staying at the marina and Four Seasons Resort. Programming included a welcome cocktail at the Peninsula Residence, a beachside dinner at Delphine Day Club, and lively evenings at Mozza at the Marina Village.
A big congratulations to the Reel’n & Deal’n team, who secured first place with a 404-pound Black Marlin.
We’re already looking forward to the 2026 tournament and seeing Costa Palmas Marina once again filled with yachts, captains, members, and guests, all celebrating the thrill of sportfishing and the beauty of the East Cape.
