Setting sail: Costa Palmas’ Journey at the 27th Bisbee’s Fishing Tournament

Costa Palmas took center stage at the 27th Bisbee’s East Cape Offshore Fishing Tournament, an event that attracted skilled anglers from all corners of the world. With a generous prize pool of $1.8 million up for grabs, the competition was fierce as participants targeted dorado, marlin, and tuna, competing to land the heaviest catches in each category. This year’s tournament brought together a strong showing of over 800 anglers, forming 91 teams, all vying for the ultimate recognition.

Throughout the three-day tournament, Costa Palmas made its presence felt with its 80-foot Viking yacht, the “Tag Team.”

Costa Palmas Club Members and guests had the chance to join the excitement, enjoying daily fishing experiences aboard. From catching dorado and blue marlin on the final day – the latter was released to honor our conservation commitment. For some, it was a first fishing venture, creating a novel experience. Francesca Greco, the Manager for the Costa Palmas Yacht Club, orchestrated the seamless execution of the event. Her attention to detail ensured that every aspect of the tournament was well-managed, offering participants a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Costa Palmas’ involvement in this event extended beyond the competition itself. We ensured the convenience of all participating boats by providing a dedicated fuel station. Additionally, we curated two exceptional events at the vibrant Mozza, nestled in the heart of Marina Village.

On Thursday evening, a warm welcome dinner united crew members, captains, and boat owners in a convivial atmosphere of fishing and boating discussions. On Saturday, a celebratory brunch marked the conclusion of the tournament, extending a gracious invitation to all those who were part of the tournament.

We look forward to the future, with plans to participate in the 2024 Bisbee’s East Cape Offshore Tournament and to curating more notable yachting events exclusively for Costa Palmas Yacht Club members, while extending our warm hospitality to yachts at our exceptional Marina.
