Trip planning takes a keen eye for details. You’ll likely book plane tickets, reserve a room, and research local adventures to fill your days with. Whether you fill every day of your vacation with tours and sightseeing or plan a more low-key stay, the choice is yours. No matter what kind of traveler you are, research shows one particular outing is gaining momentum: Day Clubs.
Delphine, a premier day club sitting on the white sandy beaches of the Sea of Cortez, is the perfect example of day clubs in Los Cabos and can help explain why visitors are drawn to these luxe locales. With ocean views, private umbrellas, and French cuisine available, Delphine will delight your senses.
Much like a nightclub, day clubs offer entertainment, food, and drinks, just during the day rather than at night. Usually, the hub of a day club is a pool or beach, where visitors can enjoy the sun-soaked atmosphere, but are never far from a Mai Tai or a meal.
Depending on the club and its popularity, you may need to make reservations to visit.
Day clubs provide a host of daytime activities, but are closed at night. Usually, day clubs shut their doors just after the dinner hour, around 7-8pm.
Day clubs are quickly rising in popularity, and rather than attracting a certain type of traveler, day clubs attract all kinds of visitors. Here are a few reasons people enjoy day clubs:
For those who aren’t up for dinner and dancing that kicks off at 9pm, day clubs are perfect. It gives you a chance to be active and enjoy the day outdoors, but get a solid night of rest.
Day clubs in Los Cabos are often centered around an impressive pool or stunning beach; an appealing backdrop for any vacationer. Depending on the club, you could grab a few lounge chairs by an infinity pool or reserve private beach seating under an umbrella.
Around the pool or beach, you’ll find a variety of different things to do. Some things are DIY entertainment, like pool slides, volleyball nets, or large outdoor games like Chess or Checkers that are ready to play anytime.
In addition, day clubs may have activity managers who organize various events or games to keep people entertained. You might get invited to a watermelon eating contest, trivia competition, or beachside bingo, for example. Or, maybe the day club features local musicians throughout the day.
The beach or pool lure you in, but the food and drinks will keep you content for hours. From poolside bars and restaurants to wait staff that deliver drinks to your private oasis on the beach, you have everything you need to enjoy the whole day.
A recently-opened day club in the luxurious 1500-acre property of Costa Palmas, Delphine is the day club of your dreams. Beach chairs, tables, and a restaurant are all centered around the main attraction: the sapphire waters of the Sea of Cortez.
If you’re planning to visit, here are a few things you should know:
While visiting Delphine, you’ll dig your toes into the sugary sand while watching the azul waves come ashore. In the background, the jagged peaks of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains. Behind you, an open-air restaurant and bar. The view is stunning – as is the food and drink.
And, unlike many shorelines in the area, you can actually swim in the water. The calm waves rolling in are perfect for any swimmer, which means you and your family can splash around rather than just wave watch.
You’re welcome to bring the whole family to explore the day club. With a two-mile stretch of swimmable beach, your kids can enjoy some fun in the sun.
Menu items marry the flavors of Baja and the French Riviera in a must-try way. Main courses center around the freshest seafood and the most flavorful herbs. Dishes like whole roasted snapper pair delightfully with a signature cocktail like Elderflower Spritz. Finish your meal off with an impressive dessert like the Tropezienne Tart.
Chef Ludo Lefebvre was classically trained by the great masters of French cuisine, and he’s the mastermind behind the French coastal dishes you can try at Delphine. Peruse the menu and pick a favorite. You won’t be disappointed.
Costa Palmas members, Four Seasons resort guests, and day visitors are required to make a reservation. You can also reserve a beach chair and umbrella at that time as well.
You can arrive at Delphine via yacht. You’ll need a reservation to visit, but when you make your reservation the Costa Palmas team can also reserve a slip for you. If you’d prefer, you can anchor in front of Delphine, but you’ll need your own dinghy to get to and from your yacht.
Delphine is available to guests Thursday-Sunday. It’s open from 11am-7pm, which means you can sleep in, enjoy the sunshine during the day, and head back to your room at nightfall. Delphine is closed for the offseason, which is January – April.
