Journey To The Sea Of Cortez

“The abundance of life here gives one an exuberance, a feeling of fullness and richness”, wrote author John Steinbeck and his friend, marine biologist Ed Ricketts during their ailing trip down the Sea of Cortez in 1940.

Initially, John Steinbeck and marine biologist Ed Ricketts were driven by the desire to document the creatures that inhabit the shallow waters and the tide pools on the periphery of the Sea of Cortez, but the project became so much more. It became a project of passion and of conservation. The question posed, will the story of their journey inspire new efforts to preserve the sea? Join us as we explore the wonder that is the Sea of Cortez.
