Focus On: The Aventura Team, Danny

Wake boarding and water sports of all types have been part of this Aventura Team member’s life since was just six years old. Danny, our wake boarding instructor was born in Acapulco, where his family owned a local water activities business. About 11 years ago, they brought their business to Los Cabos and Danny has been on the water ever since.

CP: How did you find your way to Costa Palmas?

D: I first offered wakeboarding activities here at Costa Palmas via my family’s business. Then, Marco offered me a job on the Aventura Team because, as he told me, he enjoyed my attitude and the guest service and focus that I provided. Today, I drive Costa Palmas Mastercraft X26 and help guests perfect their wakeboarding, wakesurfing and tubing skills. It’s so fun!

CP: Which are your favorite spots in Baja?

D: I LOVE Scorpion Bay. The waves there are perfect, it makes for great surfing, a real “surfer’s paradise.” I also like surfing spots near Costa Palmas, like Shipwrecks, Nine Palms and La Fortuna. The East Cape has so many great spots.

CP: Do you surf year round?

D: That’s one of the great parts about living on the Baja. I can surf year-round. In the winter, I surf on the Pacific side, either at Cerritos Beach or San Pedrito. La Pastora is also a great spot, if you’re a bit more experienced.

As a member of the Aventura team, I love sharing with our guests what I am most passionate about: wakeboarding, surfing and spending the day on the water. Overall, Costa Palmas is a great place to enjoy the East Cape. The number of activities on water and land are endless and great for all ages. There is always a new adventure waiting, so our members and guests are never bored.
