Costa Palmas is pleased to announce Lucas Bröcker as the Costa Palmas Marina Director. Lucas comes to the Baja most recently from Dubai where he was involved in a flourishing 1000-slip marina project home to some of the largest superyachts in the world. Born and raised in Latin America, Lucas is from a multi-cultural background and has lived in several countries from Ecuador, Columbia, Honduras, Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Spain, to name a few.
A spirit of adventure and a passion for the sea inspired Lucas to sail the world for seven years while building his reputation within the yachting industry. Lucas pivoted into a land-based career in 2012 and earned his Master’s Degree in Barcelona and then began working at Port Vell. His professional achievements in both Spain and Dubai has set him up for this next step in career path.
“I am thrilled to be here at Costa Palmas,” said Lucas. “The coastline naturally suits as a fun cruising ground. This combined with the vision for the Costa Palmas Marina made the decision to be part of this project a natural transition. I have a passion for Latin America and see the incredible potential of the Sea of Cortez growing into an exceptional destination for yachting and am honored to be part of what will become a renowned and coveted marina.”
Centrally located within Costa Palmas, the Marina will eventually feature 300-slips for yachts up to 230 feet in length. Yacht owners will enjoy a marina featuring comprehensive services including, but not limited to, private dockage, a drystack system, yacht maintenance services, tailored provisioning, fueling services, along with the power, water, ice and wifi service and more.
Surrounding the Costa Palmas Marina will be the Marina Village dotted with artisanal boutiques, a selection of signature and casual dining options, waterfront gathering spaces and luxurious residences with outstanding ocean and marina views. A portal to adventure, the Costa Palmas marina is anticipated to reach capacity quickly.
“Each newly built marina usually takes a few years to completely fill, however we are noticing a high demand for a marina along this stretch of coastline,” said Lucas, “the amenity portfolio and services at the Marina Village, Yacht Club and Costa Palmas Marina are sophisticated and elevated, offering an experience unlike any other in Mexico or around the world.”
The semi-private marina at Costa Palmas is currently being built with a phase 1 opening at the start of 2022 alongside the Marina Village, which will be home to Mozza Baja, a coffee bar and a curated retail experience.
