A Weekend of Fairway Fun at Costa Palmas

Costa Palmas organized the third annual La Carrera golf tournament for its members with a weekend full of fun activities ranging from golf and wellness to dining and art. Leading fitness instructors and chefs from Los Angeles attended, resulting in two action-packed itineraries for guests—one geared toward golf enthusiasts and the other offering a vibrant social lineup.

No matter which agenda they opted for, guests experienced the best local and international cuisine, wine, tequila, and farm-to-table dining, with the Frasca Food & Wine team, Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey perfectly complementing chef Eduardo Valle Lobo for a weekend of great food and wine pairings.

On Friday, October 14, the weekend kicked off with a day of practice on the green. In the evening, members enjoyed cocktails and dinner at Mozza Baja, arriving via water taxi to the Marina Village. Live music and great food were accompanied by a fireworks show. A stylish trunk show also took place at Casena, featuring the latest collection by Elder Statesman and timeless pieces by Jenna Blake Jewelry.

Saturday started with breakfast and a tournament warmup at Bouchie’s. The shotgun-format tournament partnered with LA GOLF and featured live music, a bar, and a tent full of activities. Costa Palmas provided on-course food stations and a DJ. Later that afternoon, the  La Carrera Horse Race took place after the main golf program—a fun event inspired by the traditional horse races in the area.

Those who weren’t golfing enjoyed a separate social itinerary, including activities hosted by wellness and fitness experts—along with a healthy dose of retail therapy. They attended a fitness class with Joe Holder and mat pilates with Liana Levi at the Beach Club. They went on to have lunch at Mozza Baja, followed by a full social program at the Marina Village, which included mini facials by Fatma Shaheen with soothing products by SkinDesign London. The Baja Wellness team provided sound baths, reiki, and chakra alignment as well as a cacao ceremony with breathwork and tarot card readings.

That evening at Costa Palmas Nursery, everybody attended a special culinary event. Renowned winemaker Bobby Stuckey Culinary Director Eduardo Valle Loco shared their incredible skills and knowledge.

Sunday was all about relaxation. Joe Holder offered a recovery class at the Costa Palmas Beach Club and Liana Levi hosted a stretching and lengthening class. Other activities and offerings during the weekend included a curated lunch by Shauna Faulisi, a chat with Holistic Health Coach Vanessa Fitzgerald, revitalizing goods from Paya Health, a takeover of the Casena bar by Kroma Wellness featuring savory lattes and elixirs, and a guided doodle and drawing class by local artist Maria Echevarria.

It was a weekend to remember from start to finish, with the Costa Palmas members and community coming together to savor the beauty and recreation this special place has to offer. We look forward to the 4th Annual La Carrera Tournament next year!
