It was a day of pride as Costa Palmas celebrated the school age participants of the, “Aprende, Cultiva, Come y Vamos” education program. Approximately 150 local school children were acknowledged by the Costa Palmas team and prominent local La Ribera delegates and directors along with their family members for their participation in the 20-week, “Learn, Grow, Eat and Go” program, with curriculum provided by Texas A&M.
The completely Spanish program is a first of its kind in all of Baja and rapidly grew from 50 students in 2017 to 150 4th, 5th and 6th graders in 2018. During the 20 weeks, students completed both classroom and field experiences that taught them the basics of cultivation and farming, along with nutrition, math, science and more.
