Off the Beaten Track

You never know where an adventure will lead…

Recently, a family visiting Costa Palmas wanted an off-road experience through the Baja Desert. Toy and Maria José, from the Aventura Team, guided our guests on an hour and a half trek through the “Arroyo de Santiago.” The “arroyo,” or dry river bed, connects La Ribera with the small picturesque town of Santiago.

This adrenaline-charged experience was great for the whole family. Throughout the journey there were countless opportunities to stop and appreciate the majestic desert landscape and beauty.

The photo below is from the immense cave located in a canyon along their journey. A great spot for an impromptu picnic.

The duo of all-terrain vehicles continued through Rancho de Sol de Mayo, home to stunning waterfalls and a “poza.” (A poza is an ideal location to jump and swim.) Filled by the water from the Sierra de la Laguna mountains, the natural poza is beyond refreshing and offers an ideal venue for adventure.

The excursion was a success. And, just one of the off-the-grid activities that connects our Costa Palmas guests with nature.
